Day 01: Hanoi - Arrival (D)
Meet on
arrival at Hanoi / Noi Bai International Airport and transfer to hotel for
check in.
P.m: City
tour (if time permits): Ho Chi Minh’s Mausoleum, his residence, One-Pillar
Pagoda and Hoan Kiem Lake, Temple of Literature, built in the 11th century as
Vietnam's first university and the Old Quarter of Hanoi. Dinner at local
restaurant. Evening: Water puppet show, the unique Vietnamese traditional art.
Accommodation.
Day 02: Hanoi - Lang Son (B/L/D)
Breakfast
at hotel.
Pick up at
hotel. Drive to Lang Son (3 ½ hours), stopover to visit But Thap Pagoda on the
way. Lunch at a local restaurant. Afternoon visit Nhi Thanh and Tam Thanh
Caves, To Thi Rock, Fairy Pagoda and Dong Kinh Market. Dinner and accommodation
at a basic hotel.
Day 03: Lang Son - Cao Bang (B/L/D)
Breakfast
at hotel.
Depart to
Cao Bang (4 hours). Transfer to basic hotel, lunch.
Afternoon:
drive 50 km to visit the former headquarters of the Viet Minh freedom fighters
led by Ho Chi Minh in the 1940s. Enjoy beautiful landscapes dotted with the
villages of the Tay and Nung minorities. Dinner and accommodation.
Day 04: Cao Bang - Ba Be Lake - Cho Ra
(B/L/D)
Breakfast
at hotel.
Drive
to Cho Ra (3 1/2 hours). Transfer to basic hotel, lunch.
Afternoon
boat trip downstream the Nang River into Ba Be Lake, exploring the National
Park by boat with stops to visit the limestone grottoes and Tay and Nung ethnic
minority villages. Enjoy the peace and tranquillity of the unspoilt tropical
jungle, emerald waters, limestone mountains and the tribal life style. Drive
back to Cho Ra for dinner and accommodation.
Day 05: Cho Ra - Thai Nguyen - Hanoi (B/L/D)
Breakfast
at hotel.
Drive to
Thai Nguyen, lunch at a local restaurant. Visit the Ethnology Museum to see its
rich displays of the cultures of the various ethnic groups of Vietnam. Return
to Hanoi. Dinner and accommodation.
Day 06: Hanoi
- Departure (B)
Breakfast.
Leisure time until transfer to Hanoi / Noi Bai International Airport for
departure.
