Thailand is an enchanting Buddhist Kingdom where
past and present mingle in perfect harmony. Known
for centuries by outsiders as Siam, Thailand covers
an area of 198,456 square miles or about 20%
larger than California, and has a population of over
62 millions, with over 9 million concentrated in the capital, Bangkok. Thailand has a tropical climate
with three seasons; hot (March to May), Rainy (June
to October) and Cool (November to February).
Average temperatures are 82 F, ranging, for example,
in Bangkok, from 95 F in April, to 63 F in December.
